THE OPPORTUNITY





We are looking for a Legal AI Engineer to play a key role in shaping the future of legal technology. This is a unique opportunity for a legally qualified professional with experience in prompt engineering, a strong understanding of AI, and excellent interpersonal skills.



You'll join our Implementations Group, where you'll collaborate with AI researchers, legal engineers, product managers, and clients to develop transformative AI-driven legal solutions. You'll act as the subject matter expert on applying GenAi to real-world legal challenges, helping redefine how legal teams work.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:







Be the Legal-AI Liaison:

Act as the subject matter expert bridging the gap between legal teams and AI/engineering teams, guiding the responsible application of AI in legal workflows.

Design & Develop Prompts:

Craft, test, and optimise high-quality prompts tailored to legal use cases such as contract review, risk analysis, compliance support, and clause extraction.

Curate Legal Datasets:

Identify, clean, annotate, and manage legal data for training and evaluation of AI systems, such as contracts, statutes, case summaries, or internal precedents.

Train and Educate:

Support internal, partners and client teams in understanding and effectively using AI legal tools, ensuring adoption and alignment with legal strategy.

Test and Optimise AI Models

: Collaborate with AI researchers to fine-tune LLMs, evaluate outputs, and improve prompt effectiveness.

Build Legal Guardrails:

Define frameworks to ensure AI-generated outputs adhere to legal standards and ethical boundaries.

Support Deployment:

Work closely with engineering and product teams to implement, test, and launch features into production.

Stay Ahead of the Curve:

Monitor developments in generative AI and identify opportunities for integration into our legal platform.

Ensure Legal Alignment:

Collaborate cross-functionally to align AI solutions with real-world legal needs, compliance, and user experience.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:





Qualified lawyer (e.g. solicitor, barrister, or equivalent), with in-house, private practice, or academic experience. Proven experience with prompt engineering and working with LLMs such as GPT. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently across technical and non-technical audiences. A passion for innovation and applying AI to legal processes. Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams including product, legal, and engineering. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. A proactive mindset, keen to learn and stay up to date with AI trends. Bonus: Multi-lingual capabilities. Bonus: Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms, AI tools or document automation tools.
