A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a legal assistant to support the Personal Medical and Injury department in their day-to-day duties on a full-time basis at our Brighton/Hove office.



The role will be working with the very busy Personal Medical and Injury department and you will be an integral part of the team from day one.



Salary: 24,000 per annum

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

To ensure information, documents and correspondence relating to cases are processed quickly and accurately as directed by fee earners. To attend to clients both on the telephone and in person, ensuring accurate messages are passed on without unnecessary delay. To make appointments, arrange meetings and maintain an up-to-date diary for the fee earners. Drafting routine letters and documents, e.g. cost update letters to client, applying for medical records, etc. Keeping track of which documents have been disclosed / not disclosed and which have been sent to Counsel. Monitoring client ledgers, paying invoices, billing, maintaining costs information. Preparing bundles and documents to experts, courts and barristers. Photocopying and filing. File opening.

The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail and will be complimented with the ability to manage multiple activities. You will be organised and methodical with a can-do attitude.



You will be able to evidence good interpersonal skills as you will be liaising with clients on a regular basis. An essential criterion is good working knowledge of IT systems, a good typing speed would be helpful.

Please note this department deals with complex cases of a highly sensitive nature, you will be dealing with bereaved families and clients who have been exposed to traumatic events.
