To provide secretarial support to their Fee Earner to enable them to operate at optimum efficiency.
You will be expected to communicate clearly and appropriately, both orally and verbally with other parties, whilst maintaining and developing excellent working relationships.

To work within the Residential Conveyancing department
This is a full-time office-based role
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare correspondence and documents for clients
Administer filing which will include daily filing, and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the detailed procedures contained in the Office Manual;
Prepare mail and enclosures for dispatch;
Arrange for all copying to be done, in person, if the Administrative Assistant is not available to undertake the task;
Make appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up-to-date diary for their Fee Earner;
Provide support to other Legal Assistants as required;
Provide guidance to junior and temporary Legal Assistants when required to do so;
Attend clients both in person and on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the firm's standards for client care.
To exercise your initiative to be proactive in the business development of the practice generally.
To ensure confidentiality and security of all practice and client's documentation and/or information;
To manage all files methodically and efficiently and in accordance with the practice's procedures, Solicitors Accounts Rules, Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing procedures and the Lexcel quality mark;
To comply with the practice's various policies and procedures as contained in the Office and Staff Manuals.
To take responsibility for own personal and professional development and ensure compliance with any compulsory professional education requirements;
To create and maintain professional relationships with supervisors and other members of staff;
To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work commensurate with the role.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role, preferably within Conveyancing or property law
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with legal research tools and software
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Skills

Experience of reading property reports
