Job Description

We're looking for a Legal Assistant to join our highly rated and regarded Employment Team based in Hull. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a team known for its expertise and collaborative approach. While your primary focus will be supporting our Hull based team you will also play a key role in assisting the wider Employment Team across the firm when needed.


You will have previous administrative experience, with an ability to work proactively, independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Your consistently strong delivery will be an integral part of the ongoing success of the team. Experience in employment law is desirable but not absolutely necessary as training will be provided.


As part of the role, your main duties will include:

Answering and making telephone calls on behalf of other team members, both internal and external and calls to and from the court and other solicitors. Taking initial client calls and referring to appropriate team members. Sending cost information to prospective clients. Occasional face-to-face meetings with clients to deal with routine matters e.g. signing of documents. Attending client meetings with other team members where necessary. Scanning, photocopying, opening digital files as well as file closing. Producing, formatting, and sending emails and correspondence. Saving and collating documentation received from clients. Producing bundles of documents for use at Court hearings. Arranging client appointments and internal meetings. Maintaining client information on the firm's practice management system and carrying out periodic compliance checks and updates. Handling confidential information in line with the firm's data security protocols. Time recording on client matters where appropriate. General administration. Occasional transcript of digital dictation.


We want to talk to people who have excellent communication skills as well as a keen eye for detail. You must be fully conversant with all Microsoft packages and will have previous experience delivering excellent internal and external customer service coupled with demonstrable experience in administration in a busy team.
