We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team.
The Role:
As a Full-Time Legal Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our solicitors and ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised individual with a keen interest in wills and probate law to develop their career in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting solicitors with drafting and preparing legal documents, including wills, powers of attorney, and trust agreements.
Managing client correspondence, including emails, phone calls, and in-person enquiries, with professionalism and empathy.
Organising and maintaining client files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
Scheduling appointments, managing diaries, and coordinating meetings with clients and third parties.
Conducting preliminary research and gathering information for case preparation under solicitor supervision.
Processing probate applications and liaising with courts, financial institutions, and other relevant parties.
Providing administrative support, including document filing, billing, and office management tasks.
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and compassionate demeanour.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn case management software.
Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and maintain client confidentiality.
A proactive attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
Previous experience as a legal assistant or in an administrative role within a law firm (wills & probate experience is a plus).
Familiarity with legal terminology and processes related to wills, probate, or estate planning.
A qualification in law, legal studies, or a related field (e.g., paralegal certification).
