To support our growing team of Solicitors within Private client we are looking for an experienced Private Client Legal Assistant to join our Totnes office on a full-time, permanent basis.
The ideal candidate will:
assist lawyers in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings by gathering relevant documents and evidence.
draft legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, and contracts.
maintain and organise case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
manage schedules, including appointments and court dates, ensuring timely reminders for all parties involved.
communicate with clients, witnesses, and other legal professionals as necessary to facilitate case progression.
file documents with courts and other relevant entities in accordance with established procedures.
handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing correspondence, and maintaining office supplies.
You will also have:
strong organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
proficient in using legal research tools and case management software.
the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
familiarity with legal terminology and procedures is advantageous.
strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
