About the Role
This is a non-fee earning role that provides a high level of administrative support and assistance to Solicitors in the team. The overall objective of the role is to ensure that delegated duties are completed and returned to the appropriate team member within a timely, efficient and accurate manner. Core tasks relating to the role include:-
Customer and matter inception - including file opening and closing
ID verification checks
Assisting with initial stages of matter progression
Ensuring file hygiene in accordance with compliance requirements
Dealing with the organisation and storage of original documents
Drafting standard letters to clients
Post scanning and allocation
Support with new enquiries into the team which includes answering the phone, emails and meeting customers in reception
About you
This role will suit an experienced Legal Assistant or a highly capable Administrator with exceptional attention to detail. You should be comfortable working under general direction, following established priorities, processes, and procedures, while exercising a degree of autonomy in how you complete your work. You'll quickly grasp the tasks and responsibilities assigned to you -- some of which may require a working knowledge of the relevant Practice Area. You'll be expected to set your own priorities and manage your workload effectively, with routine oversight. While you'll work closely as part of a wider team, you should also be confident operating independently when required. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll engage with clients and members of the public via telephone and email. Your interactions should always be clear, professional, and reflective of the Brethertons brand.
