Due to continued investment and growth in our departments, we are looking for a Legal Assistant for our Commercial Property department in the North region, to support the fee earners with a wide range of administration tasks.

You will assist solicitors with a wide range of administrative tasks in respect of commercial property matters including commercial and residential site acquisitions, commercial & residential development, funding arrangements and agreements, commercial leases and general landlord & tenant advice.

You will provide an excellent, client-focused service at all times and a can-do attitude towards assisting members of the team. This role is full-time, based at our offices in Sheffield, and reports to the Partner & Head of Commercial Property (North).

Key Responsibilities





Perform legal research on behalf of the commercial property fee earners Dealing with file openings and generating client care letter for solicitors Monitoring fee earner inbox and assisting with straightforward replies Ordering conveyancing searches, monitoring and managing search results Dealing with Land Registry applications, including preparing LR forms, preparing fee schedules, submitting fee proposals, monitoring progress via portal, dealing with simple requisitions and fielding more complex ones. Assisting with AML and source of funds Assisting with client onboarding Dealing with straightforward client calls in a timely manner Preparing financial statements and dealing with standard requisitions Preparing and submitting SDLT forms Assisting with file management General support and assistance including typing were required Any other administrative or support tasks set by the Partner


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise





You will:Have excellent telephone handling skills and be a strong communicator. Preferably have previous experience in a legal secretary or administrative role. Be able to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Be focused on resolutions and positive outcomes. Have excellent time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines with your caseloads. Be enthusiastic and work hard to develop with the team and the business. Be committed but patient with the journey, career progression opportunities are available and our business is growing, but you will need to demonstrate continued success in the Legal Assistant/PA role, including mastering drafting and dealing with client facing work, before progression opportunities can be explored.
