The Role
We are looking for a
Legal Cashier / Finance Assistant
to support our finance function. You will work as part of the team to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) rules. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with good attention to detail and a proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities
Processing client and office account transactions in line with SRA Accounts Rules
Monitoring and allocating daily client funds, including CHAPS, BACS and Faster Payments
Handling billing, receipts, payments, and bank reconciliations
Supporting credit control and accounts payable
Posting expenses such as fees and travel costs
Handling Infotrack and Land Registry invoices
Preparing and maintaining financial records with accuracy
Assisting with VAT returns and supporting year-end processes
Performing general administrative duties including filing and record maintenance
Providing general finance administration support to the team
About You
Previous experience as a legal cashier or in a finance/accounts role
Law firm experience preferred but not essential
Understanding of SRA Accounts Rules (preferred, training can be provided)
Good Excel and IT skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines
Proactive, reliable, and a good communicator
