BW Legal is a dual-regulated, market-leading law firm with a fast-paced Finance team operating to strict SRA rules. With a starting salary of 19,20022,000 (depending on experience), this is a great opportunity to begin building a long-term career in finance.
As a Legal Cashier, you'll work closely with our Billing team, handling the daily allocation and reconciliation of funds received to our client accounts and active cases. It's an essential role that keeps everything running smoothly, ensuring payments are posted quickly, balances are accurate, and clients receive funds promptly.
There's also plenty of room to grow. We actively support career development, and your Team Manager will work with you to map out progression routes, with opportunities to become a Senior Cashier or multi-skilled Billing Assistant and Cashier, gaining valuable skills and experience along the way.

What you will be doing:
Processing files for direct debit collections
Downloading bank transactions accurately and reconciling to our client accounts
Posting cash to client cases in our case management system
Processing chargebacks and direct debit reversals
Reviewing unallocated cash receipts with no reference and contacting the bank
Supporting with resolving any internal department enquires
Do you have the following skills and experience?
Great attention to detail
Works well under pressure
Experience of using Microsoft Excel
Maths and English GCSE Grade C/4 above or equivalent grade qualification
Experience in a similar role / experience working in a finance department / any other relatable work experience
While not essential, the following skills and experience would be advantageous:
Studied or studying towards any financial qualification
Experience of dealing with confidential information
Knowledge of rules GDPR, Anti Money Laundering
This role benefits from a 6-hour working day, which offers an excellent work-life balance. The team works on a weekly rota covering hours between 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, so you have a balance of earlier and later finishes.
As a Cashier, you will be rewarded with a competitive starting salary between 19,200-22,000, dependent on experience. This is just the beginning of a clear progressive career path, with regular performance-based reviews that recognise and reward success in the role.
