Reporting directly to the
Financial Controller
, the Legal Cashier will be a vital part of the finance team, supporting the continued growth and innovation within the firm.
Key Responsibilities
Process daily
payments, receipts, and transfers
, including end-of-day balancing procedures.
Ensure
compliance with SRA regulations
and that all transactions meet audit and legal standards.
Manage and process
CHAPS, BACS, Faster Payments
, and
Next Day Faster Payments
.
Assist internal staff with
accounts-related queries
.
Raise bills
, process
payments and client-to-office transfers
.
Compile and distribute
creditor reports
and reports for
senior management
.
Support with
credit control
and collection processes.
Assist in the preparation of
monthly forecasts
and management accounts.
Authorise and process expenses
.
Liaise with
bank representatives
as needed.
Review and ensure
accuracy of billing
from fee earners.
Support the
month-end processes
and financial reporting.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Prior
experience within the legal sector
in a cashiering or finance role.
Up-to-date knowledge of the
Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR)
.
Familiarity with
Legal Aid
financial processes (desirable).
Proficiency in
legal accounting software
.
Strong
technical and IT skills
, with a focus on accuracy and detail.
Advanced Excel skills
are a prerequisite.
Previous experience using
LEAP
software is advantageous.
A customer-service mindset and the ability to offer
interim solutions
effectively.
