Job Description

We are looking for a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our friendly, supportive and forward-thinking Legal & Compliance team. What you'll be doing

As Legal Counsel, you'll provide pragmatic, commercial legal advice across a wide range of matters, including:


Drafting, reviewing and negotiating customer, supplier, outsourcing and commercial agreements across B2B, IT, property and general services Advising on legal and commercial risk, working collaboratively with colleagues to protect the business while enabling progress Supporting new business activity, bids and customer schemes with clear, commercial legal input Developing expertise across relevant areas of law, including commercial, corporate and employment Advising on policies, websites and marketing materials in partnership with Legal, Compliance and Marketing Managing and instructing external legal counsel where required Contributing to knowledge sharing, training and continuous improvement within the Legal team Building strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders across Procurement, IT, HR, Finance, New Business and Account Management

What we're looking for

Essential:


Qualified solicitor (or equivalent legal qualification), from NQ up to circa 3 years' PQE Strong interest in commercial, corporate and/or employment law Confidence making autonomous decisions during contract drafting and negotiation Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and document management systems

Desirable:


In-house experience or secondment Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements Exposure to financial services or regulated environments Familiarity with contract lifecycle management tools, AI or legal technology
