We are a well-established solicitors' firm based in Cardiff, specialising in conveyancing and immigration law. We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Legal Finance Assistant to support our Finance Manager with day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping duties.
This role is part-time to start with, with the opportunity to progress into a full-time position for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting the Finance Manager with bank reconciliations
Daily bookkeeping and data entry
Maintaining accurate financial records using Xero
Processing invoices, payments, and receipts
Handling client and office account transactions in line with SRA Accounts Rules
Supporting fee earners with finance-related queries
Assisting with month-end tasks and reports
Essential Requirements
Previous bookkeeping experience (legal sector experience strongly preferred)
Xero experience is essential
Experience using legal accounting/software systems
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and handle confidential information
Desirable
Experience working within a solicitors' firm
Smokeball experience is an advantage
Familiarity with conveyancing and/or immigration finance processes
Working Hours
Office opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Part-time hours, working pattern, and progression to full-time to be discussed at interview stage
