John Copland and Son is an established, family-run, law firm based on the Isle of Sheppey that has been supporting a wide range of businesses, institutions, families and individuals since 1867. Our work includes buying, selling, managing and dealing with Property, Estates, Companies and Trusts and Court work dealing with divorce, child and financial claims, personal injury, estates disputes and commercial disputes.

To grow the business further John Copland & Son currently looking for a

Legal Paralegal

This role provides typing and administration support to a senior fee earner dealing with Civil litigation and property commercial and private client affairs. Ideally you already have the experience below but we are prepared to consider and train less qualified candidates looking for a long term career and specialism.

Role and Responsibilities

- You will work closely with a Senior Solicitor supporting on a range of legal tasks

- You will correspond with clients and legal organisations - complete legal documentation, preparing trial bundles etc.

- You are confident taking and documenting accurate notes in relation to ongoing cases and disputes

- You will act as a point of contact managing incoming calls/enquiries

- You will work to a high standard and maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times

Your experience

- You are experienced working within a legal setting

- You are experienced and comfortable typing, preparing trial bundles and supporting with general administrative work

- You have excellent people skills and are highly organized

- You have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
