Department
The Technology group is responsible for the delivery of all Technology services within the firm. The group is a business services function that supports and contributes to the objective of the legal practice. The Technology department consists of service delivery, business systems, training, technical operations, security operations, legal products, engineering, eDiscovery and information security. The Technology department supports the business with strategic technology delivery. The department is committed to providing a high quality of service to its clients and the clients of the firm.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Legal Technology, the Legal Products Anaylst is a member of the Technology team responsible for devising, managing and driving adoption of internally developed and off-the-shelf legal technology. They will be working with analysts, engineers, and legal practice groups to understand requirements and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. The Legal Products Analyst is expected to collaborate with technical peers, lawyers, and legal operations roles to ensure the highest level of service delivery and project management. Dealing with third party vendors, building market knowledge and horizon scanning of emerging legal technologies will also be crucial to success as well as a can-do attitude to drive projects forward.
The firm's clients understand there is an overhead to pay for how "wisdom" is delivered, however, they are not accepting of inefficiency nor are they impressed by lawyers working long hours even if those fees are written off. Technology and artificial intelligence are increasingly being used by lawyers in the delivery of service to clients - be it highly efficient information, technology applications or emerging legal technology services. Key Responsibilities

  • Proven experiencesupporting legal technology platforms or AI-driven products, preferably in a law firm or legal tech setting.
  • Strong technical aptitudeand hands-on experience working with AI technologies and natural language processing tools -
  • Proficiency in developing, refining, and optimising AI promptsto achieve desired outcomes - taking requirements from senior lawyers and developing robust, performant and accurate prompt playbooks.
  • A foundational understanding of computer science and software development concepts to understand the maturity of legal tech products.
  • Excellentanalytical and problem-solving skillswith demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical and product issues independently.
  • Effective communicator with the ability totranslate technical concepts for non-technical users, and document solutions clearly.
  • Demonstratedability to manage multiple tasksand adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Experience working inagile, cross-functional teamsand taking ownership of technical deliverables.
  • Strongattention to detailand a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools, document management systems, or workflow automationis an advantage.

Personal Specification - Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Required
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to present complex technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
  • Understanding of law firms, legal processes, and their requirements.
  • Comfortable collaborating with multiple teams on a wide variety of projects.
  • A keen interest in artificial intelligence
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
Beneficial
  • An understanding of the technology market and the ability to sense trends.
  • An interest in emerging technology and how it applies to the legal industry.
  • Experience with product management products (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jira).
  • Experience with document management systems (e.g. iManage, NetDocuments).
