We are seeking an in-house lawyer to join our construction company's team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive legal support across various areas, including contract drafting and compliance related to construction projects. This role requires a background in diverse legal fields in order to ensure the company's operations adhere to all applicable laws and regulations. The lawyer will also assist with legal research, drafting documents, and advising management on legal risks and strategies to mitigate them.
Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to construction projects, including vendor agreements, subcontractor arrangements, and property transactions.
Provide legal counsel on land use, zoning laws, environmental regulations, and compliance issues affecting construction activities.
Manage litigation processes involving construction disputes, personal injury claims, or regulatory enforcement actions. .
Support the company in landlord-tenant law issues related to property leasing or acquisitions.
Review and draft legal documents ensuring clarity and enforceability; maintain meticulous records of all legal correspondence.
Qualifications
A law degree
Experience in contract law, environmental law, land use/zoning, or related fields, preferably within the construction industry .
Strong research skills.
Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and reports.
Demonstrated ability in negotiation and dispute resolution strategies.
Legal administrative experience is advantageous for managing case files and documentation efficiently.
Ability to analyse complex legal issues quickly and provide clear guidance to non-lawyer colleagues.
