About the Role
We are seeking a professional and highly organised
Conveyancing Legal Secretary
to join our Residential Property department. This role is ideal for someone with excellent administrative skills, strong attention to detail, and a genuine interest in supporting conveyancing solicitors in delivering an exceptional client experience.
You will play a key part in ensuring that all property transactions -- from initial instruction through to completion -- are managed smoothly, efficiently, and in line with the firm's long-standing commitment to quality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, including contracts, transfer deeds, and completion statements.
Liaise professionally with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other solicitors.
Open, maintain, and close client files in accordance with firm policies and compliance standards.
Carry out Land Registry, local authority, and other property-related searches.
Manage solicitors' diaries, schedule appointments, and assist with the coordination of exchanges and completions.
Handle correspondence, telephone calls, and emails with professionalism and courtesy.
Conduct client ID, AML, and KYC checks.
Support billing, invoicing, and general file administration.
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within a Residential Conveyancing department.
Good understanding of the conveyancing process and related legal documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and organisational ability.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy working environment.
