We are seeking a highly organised and efficient Legal Secretary to provide comprehensive administrative support within a busy legal practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong IT proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with precision. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting solicitors and legal teams to ensure smooth case management and client correspondence.
Responsibilities
Perform audio typing of legal documents, correspondence, and reports with accuracy and speed
Manage and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and properly organised
Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents using Microsoft Word and other Office applications
Schedule appointments, meetings, and court dates using Microsoft Outlook, ensuring effective time management
Prepare presentations and reports using Microsoft PowerPoint as required for client meetings or internal briefings
Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence professionally, ensuring timely responses
Assist with general administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, scanning, and data entry
Liaise effectively with clients, court officials, and external agencies maintaining professional communication standards
Support IT-related tasks as needed to ensure smooth operation of office systems
Requirements
Proven administrative experience, ideally within a legal or professional services environment
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
Strong communication skills--both written and verbal--capable of liaising confidently with clients and colleagues
Proficiency in audio typing at a high speed with accuracy
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Good IT skills with the ability to adapt to new software or systems quickly
Exceptional time management skills to meet deadlines consistently
Attention to detail in document preparation and data handling
Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times in line with legal standards
