The Role - Legal Secretary (Family Law) This is a brilliant opportunity for a dedicated Legal Secretary to join a busy and friendly Family Law department. You will play a crucial role in providing high-quality administrative and secretarial support to fee earners, ensuring clients receive a professional and efficient service. Key Responsibilities
Managing fee earners' diaries and assisting with day-to-day administrative needs
Preparing files for billing
Handling incoming calls, emails, post, and internal messages
Typing correspondence, photocopying, filing, scanning, and opening new matters
Providing a calm, supportive, and professional service to clients, particularly those navigating sensitive family matters
Preparing straightforward legal documents
Ensuring compliance with LEXCEL standards and relevant regulatory requirements
Understanding basic Solicitors Accounts Rules relating to receipts, payments, and client accounting
Liaising with clients and third parties to facilitate progress on matters
Assisting with postal duties and providing occasional reception cover

Ability to remain calm, polite, and focused under pressure
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong relationship-building and team-working ability
Solid administrative experience
High attention to detail and accuracy

Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Desirable
Previous experience as a Legal Secretary
Familiarity with LEXCEL accreditation standards
