We are a well-established and friendly firm of Solicitors located in the centre of Otley. Our busy Private Client department is looking for an experienced Legal Secretary/Assistant to join our supportive team.This role involves a mixture of client-facing and administrative work within a well-organised and approachable department. You will be assisting our solicitors in managing a varied caseload, ensuring smooth day-to-day operation of the team.
About the Role
As a Private Client Secretary, your duties will include:
Fast, accurate digital dictation typing
Producing correspondence and documents using our Case Management System (LEAP)
Managing appointments and maintaining fee earners' diaries
Handling client enquiries and taking messages professionally
Maintaining filing systems and opening new files
Updating databases and managing file archiving, storage, and Wills
Liaising with the Probate Registry
Providing support across the Wills & Probate team as required
Assisting with everyday office routines, including post and general office duties
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Experienced in Private Client work (Wills, Trusts & Probate)
Confident, professional, and comfortable dealing directly with clients
Highly accurate with excellent secretarial and IT skills
Proficient in O365, Excel, and case management systems
Able to take initiative and manage responsibilities independently
Flexible and responsive to the demands of a busy caseload

You will be joining a friendly department consisting of:
4 Private Client Solicitors (2 full-time, 2 part-time)
2 Legal Secretaries/Assistants
A total team of 7
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 26,000.00-28,000.00 per year
