We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to provide essential administrative support within our legal team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing correspondence, preparing legal documents, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities. Responsibilities
Perform audio typing of legal documents, correspondence, and reports with accuracy and efficiency
Manage and organise legal files, documents, and case materials to ensure easy retrieval and confidentiality
Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents using Microsoft Word and other relevant software
Schedule appointments, meetings, and court dates; coordinate with clients and external agencies as required
Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence professionally, maintaining clear communication channels
Utilise Microsoft Outlook for calendar management and email correspondence
Prepare presentations and reports using Microsoft PowerPoint as needed for meetings or client updates
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IT systems utilised within the firm to optimise workflow efficiency
Demonstrate excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
Proven administrative experience, preferably within a legal setting or similar professional environment
Strong audio typing skills with high accuracy and speed
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Good IT literacy with the ability to adapt to new software tools quickly
Strong attention to detail and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team with minimal supervision
