The Leisure Club Assistant supports the daily operations of the Sports Club by providing excellent customer service, maintaining the facility, and assisting with various recreational, catering and administrative tasks. This role is essential in ensuring a positive experience for members and guests, and in helping the club run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Greet and assist members and guests as they arrive, providing information about club facilities, services, and activities.
Handle membership inquiries, process new memberships, and renewals, and manage cancellations or changes.
Address member and guest complaints or concerns in a professional and efficient manner. Ensure follow up communication with relevant department
Facility Management:
Monitor and maintain cleanliness and safety in all areas of the sports club, including fitness areas, changing rooms, bar and common areas.
Ensure equipment is in good working condition and report any maintenance issues to the Duty Manager.
Assist with setting up and organising equipment and facilities for various activities and events.
Administrative Support:
Handle cash transactions, process payments, and manage daily financial reports as required.
Maintain accurate records of member interactions, messages, bookings, and facility usage.
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and updating member databases.
Activity Coordination:
Support the planning and execution of club events, classes, and activities, ensuring they run smoothly and meet members' expectations.
Assist instructors and trainers with class setup and member orientation as needed.
Health and Safety:
Ensure all safety and hygiene standards are followed, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency procedures.
Report any safety hazards or incidents to the Duty Manager immediately.
General Assistance:
Provide general support to the Club Manager and Duty Manager as required.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to improving club operations and member satisfaction.
Serve customers in our bar area which provides a range of meals and both alcoholic / non alcoholic beverages and barista hot drinks.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably within a leisure or hospitality environment.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
Basic knowledge of fitness and leisure facility operations is advantageous.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Basic IT skills, including familiarity with office software and booking systems.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as required.
A relevant qualification or certification in leisure management, sports science, or a related field is a plus but not essential.
Barista / Food Hygiene would be advantageous
Working Conditions:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving equipment.
Flexible schedule, including the possibility of weekend and evening shifts.
Pay: 10.47-12.21 per hour
