Job Summary


Salary: 27,427.50 - 28,462.50 per annum (RLSS Trainer Assessor qualified for the higher rate)




Hours: 40 hours per week. Shifts can vary from 6 to 10 hours, evenings and weekends (must work one weekend day).




Monday - Thursday 13.30 - 22.00, Saturday 13.30 - 22.00. Hours can be negotiated.

This job offers ample in-house training, as well as opportunity to gain qualifications in the fitness industry, the National Pool Lifesaving Qualification, and outdoor pursuits such as Climbing Wall Instructor.




Job Purpose





Ensure the smooth operation of the Leisure Facilities; Student Gym, Swimming Pool, Muggles Activity Centre, Atrium, and the Staff Gym. Leading a team of Leisure Assistants to ensure protocols and policies are enforced and the overall supervision of the facilities is of a high standard. Lead role with Genesis sports areas.




Responsibilities




Be responsible for and offer leadership to Lifeguards and Leisure Assistants. Managing a team on shift to ensure the smooth operation of Leisure facilities that include; Gym, Pool, Activity Centre, Sports Facilities. Ensure duties are covered that fall under leisure department responsibilities. Work with the department management team to ensure high standards are met Ensure specific equipment is serviced/tested as applicable e.g. gym equipment, pool inflatable, climbing wall belays Keep records of services and maintenance in relation to the Leisure Facilities Check first aid kits, and ensure fully stocked. Including maintenance and checks of first aid equipment, e.g. CPR manikins. Cover Leisure Team duties as required. Fulfil duties of Lifeguard and/or Leisure Assistant as applicable and as required Work evenings and weekends, flexible shift pattern required Oversee operation of the Leisure Facilities, ensuring staff are following procedures set out by the Operations Managers Communicate with the wider estate about opening times, events, behaviour etc. to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the facility. Assist with Approved Training Centre inspections Assist with leadership of department training as required, e.g. Lifeguard training. Perform duties as required for the Operations Manager Assist in increasing and maximising Commercial Revenue, e.g. Tuck shop sales, External groups to site Focus on student engagement and wellbeing with regards to the use of the leisure facilities. Maximising the use of the facilities to ensure student experience is high. Support and enforce school pastoral policies with regards to behaviour management nd sanctions





The Appointed Candidate(s) will ideally have:






Good general level of education Experience of working in a similar role Experience of working with children Some knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations as they relate to the role The ability to make practical suggestions to create, improve and solve problems A highly responsible, approachable and friendly attitude. The ability to create a positive learning environment. The right to live and work in the UK. Complete fluency in English. Availability to attend training prior to your contract commencing. Qualifications related to the job role, e.g. Gym Instructor, First aid, National Pool Lifeguard, National Pool Lifeguard Trainer Assessor, H&S, Safeguarding
