Leisure Technical Manager

Job Description

The Searchlight Group, operating The Light Cinemas, Light Entertainment, and All Star Lanes, is seeking a Leisure Technical Manager. This role will ensure the smooth operation of all technical aspects of leisure activities across the group (excluding non-technical activities like climbing). Responsibilities include maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical processes, liaising with suppliers, and supporting project development.


The Technical Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining operational excellence and supporting leisure operations, ensuring a smooth technical experience for guests. This position requires a full, clean driving license and the flexibility to travel across the UK. The successful candidate must also be available for after-hours calls, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, on a shared rota basis.


Key Responsibilities:




Coordinate with leisure suppliers to install, commission, and maintain leisure equipment across all sites. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and mechanical issues related to leisure activities and point of sale (POS) infrastructure Implement new technologies (both hardware and software) that align with the company's strategic goals. Collaborate with the IT and Operations teams to create a reporting process/system for issues, and track and report on these issues at agreed intervals. Maintain and monitor leisure equipment to ensure optimal performance. Keep leisure downtime within an agreed target. Ensure that the Net Promoter Score (NPS) for leisure visits remains above 60. Ensure that all leisure activities comply with required health and safety standards Conduct regular audits and maintenance visits for leisure activities, ensuring that all systems meet company standards, and provide reports on performance and maintenance. Work with the Operations and People teams to create and maintain standard operating procedures and training guides for each leisure activity Collaborate with Operations to ensure that all relevant team members are fully trained to operate leisure activities and perform troubleshooting and basic repairs. Work alongside third-party suppliers and contractors to resolve issues in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Liaise with relevant suppliers to stay updated on the latest releases and developments in leisure equipment. Be available for on-call support during evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of a scheduled system.

About You:




Proven experience in repairing and maintaining equipment within a leisure or customer-facing business. Strong understanding of using software systems in a leisure environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges. Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks across various locations. Personable, with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Possession of a full, valid UK driving license, along with the flexibility to travel to sites across the UK
