Leith Theatre has an exciting opportunity to join their Front of House team on a temporary basis in June 2025 for the run of Restless Natives the Musical in Edinburgh.
We are looking for a team of proactive, approachable, and customer-oriented Front of House staff to support the public face of the theatre, welcoming our audience and delivering brilliant customer service whilst ensuring health and safety measures are upheld.
Front of House Staff play a key role in creating a welcoming and safe environment for our patrons. This role is ideal for individuals with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for the performing arts.
Front of House Staff will work across teams as both Ushers and Box Office Assistants, with occasional Merchandise Salespeople required.
Key Responsibilities
Be a welcoming face of Leith Theatre. Greet guests and provide excellent customer service before, during, and after performances
Scan tickets and assist patrons with seating
Ensure health and safety measures are adhered to and followed
Monitor audience behaviour and ensure house policies are followed
Assist in evacuations or emergencies following safety protocols
Help maintain cleanliness and order within the auditorium and lobby areas
Support accessibility needs of patrons as required
Provide up to date information about show schedules, facilities, and theatre policies
Serve patrons politely and efficiently, delivering a high standard of customer service.
Answer phone, email, and in-person inquiries regarding ticket availability, pricing, and seating
Process cash, credit card, and online payments accurately using the box office system
Assist with ticket exchanges, refunds, and group bookings as per theatre policy
Maintain the confidentiality and security of customer information and financial data
Balance daily sales and prepare cash reports at the end of shifts
Refer comments and complaints to the Box Office Manager, logging any feedback where necessary
Personal Specification
Previous experience working Front of House or in a customer-facing role essential
Excellent communication and customer-service skills
Proactive, attentive with the ability to work well in a team and react quickly in emergencies
Experience of cash handling
Ability to multi-task and prioritise
Accuracy, attention to detail and high levels of organisation
Positive attitude, professional and courteous
Recruitment Information and Terms
Salary: 13 per hour.
Hours: Part-time, 4-hour shifts. Temporary for the run of Restless Natives The Musical at Leith Theatre. The ideal candidate would be available across all performance dates.
