The Role
We are seeking a bilingual (Mandarin/Cantonese and English), highly mobile Letting Negotiator to join our specialised team. This role is pivotal in managing and expanding our relationships with our overseas Chinese landlords across our extensive portfolio of new developments. You will be the key point of contact on the ground, leveraging your language skills, cultural understanding, and willingness to travel to provide an unparalleled service.
Please note: This is a field-based role with heavy daily travel requirements across Central London. The successful candidate will spend the majority of their day conducting viewings and property inspections at various locations.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management & Portfolio Oversight:
Serve as the primary, trusted point of contact for our overseas Chinese landlords, communicating effectively in their preferred language (Mandarin or Cantonese).
Conduct property valuations and provide strategic, market-led advice to landlords on our portfolio of new-build developments.
Proactively generate new instructions from the overseas Chinese community through targeted networking, referrals, and social media marketing.
Marketing & Digital Outreach:
Develop and execute marketing strategies for properties on key Chinese social media platforms and apps, such as
WeChat, Weibo, Little Red Book (Xiaohongshu)
Create engaging, bilingual content that highlights the premium features and benefits of our new-build properties.
Viewings, Travel & Negotiation:
Efficiently manage a demanding schedule of property viewings across Central London, requiring extensive daily travel between different developments.
Conduct professional, high-quality viewings for a diverse range of prospective tenants, providing bilingual support.
Confidently negotiate tenancy terms between overseas landlords and tenants, acting as a cultural bridge to secure the best deal.
Tenancy Progression:
Manage the end-to-end letting process for your properties, ensuring a smooth handover to the tenancy progression team.
Person Specification: Essential Skills & Experience
Bilingual Fluency:
Fluent in both
English and Mandarin
(and/or Cantonese), with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
Cultural Proficiency:
A deep understanding of Chinese business culture and social etiquette.
Mobile & Flexible:
Must be willing and able to undertake heavy daily travel across Central London. A positive attitude towards a largely field-based role is essential.
London Travel Savvy:
Excellent knowledge of, and ability to navigate, London's transport network efficiently. A valid UK Driver's Licence is advantageous but not essential.
Lettings Experience:
At least 6-12 months of experience in a UK residential lettings role, ideally with experience in new-build developments.
Digital Marketing Skills:
Proven experience or a strong understanding of key
Chinese social media platforms (WeChat, Weibo, Xiaohongshu)
