As our lettings portfolio continues to grow, we are now looking for a very special person to take full ownership of this side of the business and help shape its future.

We are seeking an experienced lettings professional, either an established

Lettings Manager

or someone ready to step up, who would enjoy managing the entire lettings function and taking on an exciting growth challenge within a respected independent agency.

The role



Based from our Mansfield office and covering the surrounding areas, this is a complete, end to end lettings role. You will manage all aspects of the lettings portfolio yourself, working closely alongside the wider Smith & Co. team rather than managing a dedicated lettings team at this stage.

You will have direct, one to one support from Sara, the proud founder and owner of Smith & Co., giving you guidance, backing and encouragement, while also being trusted to take real ownership of the role.

This is a hands on role for someone who enjoys the day to day of lettings just as much as the challenge of growth. You'll be involved in every detail of the portfolio while also using your personality, drive and relationships to attract new business and help shape the future of the lettings side of the business.

You will be responsible for the day to day running of the lettings side of the business, ensuring high standards of service, compliance and client care throughout. A key focus of the role will be growing the portfolio, with a clear ambition to double its size within the first year, supported by founder-led guidance and the wider team, followed by continued, sustainable growth into the future.

As the portfolio expands, there is genuine scope for the role to evolve, including the opportunity to build and lead a lettings team in time.

A personal vehicle is required, with mileage covered.

You will be trusted to:



Manage the full lettings journey from instruction through to ongoing management Oversee all lettings compliance and legislation with confidence and care Build strong, long term relationships with landlords, tenants and our trusted maintenance team Proactively win new lettings business and grow the portfolio Deliver a concierge style client experience that is thoughtful, empathetic and personal Work collaboratively with the wider team, bringing energy, curiosity and ideas

About you



You will be an experienced lettings professional who enjoys ownership, variety and responsibility, and who takes pride in doing things properly.

You may already be operating at manager level, or you may be ready for a role that offers more autonomy, influence and long term opportunity than your current position. You will be commercially minded and confident in winning new business, while also being compassionate, people focused and values led in how you work.

Ideally, you will:

Have proven experience across all aspects of residential lettings Be ARLA qualified or working towards a recognised lettings qualification Be confident with lettings compliance and legislation Value teamwork, relationships and doing things differently Be motivated by growth, challenge and personal development

Alongside a competitive basic salary, this role includes a clear and motivating

milestone bonus structure

linked to the sustainable growth of our managed lettings portfolio. Bonuses are awarded as the portfolio reaches agreed growth milestones throughout the year, designed to reward consistent, high quality expansion rather than short term activity.

There is also the opportunity to earn

additional commission on tenant find only services

, paid as a simple, fixed amount per completed let. This is kept separate from portfolio growth bonuses to ensure clarity and to maintain our values led approach.

Pay: 28,000.00-38,000.00 per year
