We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support classroom activities and assist educators in creating an inclusive learning environment. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, patience, and a genuine interest in supporting student development.
Duties
Assist teachers in delivering lessons and classroom activities tailored to diverse learning needs
Support children with special educational requirements, including those with autism or other disabilities
Provide one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to students requiring additional help
Help create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning
Support students during breaks, lunch, and extracurricular activities
Monitor student behaviour and promote social skills development
Prepare teaching materials and organise resources as directed by the teacher
Foster effective communication between students, teachers, and parents when necessary
Qualifications
Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings
Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities or autism is highly desirable
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and encourage students
Prior tutoring or mentoring experience is advantageous
Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are preferred but not essential
A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
