To deliver high-quality training and assessment for learners undertaking the
Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry
(and related security qualifications). The Tutor/Assessor will ensure that all learners receive engaging, compliant, and effective teaching, and that all assessments meet awarding body and SIA (Security Industry Authority) standards.
Key Responsibilities:Training Delivery:
Deliver engaging, inclusive, and compliant training sessions for the Level 2 Door Supervisor qualification (and related courses such as Conflict Management, Physical Intervention, and CCTV where applicable).
Deliver training both face-to-face and via blended or online platforms as required.
Ensure all sessions meet the awarding organisation's standards and learning outcomes.
Maintain excellent classroom management and create a positive, supportive learning environment.
Assessment & Quality Assurance:
Conduct fair and accurate assessments in line with qualification and awarding body criteria.
Ensure all learner evidence is valid, authentic, current, and sufficient.
Provide constructive feedback and support learners to achieve their qualifications.
Complete and maintain all learner records, registers, and assessment documentation accurately and on time.
Participate in internal quality assurance (IQA) and standardisation activities.
Compliance & Administration:
Adhere to all awarding body, SIA, and organisational compliance requirements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, SIA licensing requirements, and industry standards.
Support audits and external quality assurance (EQA) visits when required.
Contribute to course evaluation and continuous improvement processes.
Learner Support:
Motivate and mentor learners, identifying individual learning needs and providing additional support where required.
Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all learning environments.
Encourage safe and professional conduct in line with industry expectations.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or equivalent).
Recognised assessing qualification (e.g. Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) or equivalent).
Current and valid
Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry
(or equivalent).
Relevant industry experience within the security or door supervision sector.
Up-to-date CPD and strong working knowledge of SIA requirements and legislation.
Desirable Qualifications & Skills:
Level 3 (or higher) Teaching qualification (e.g. DET, CertEd, PGCE).
Physical Intervention (PI) Instructor qualification (e.g. Maybo, NFPS, or equivalent).
First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.
Experience delivering training to diverse learner groups.
Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.
