The Keyworker will liaise with mainstream and community services to promote the inclusion of disabled children and young people, encouraging attendance and participation in activities of their choice within the community without the need for Social Care involvement.
The Keyworker will directly support families to access services or funding, from charities and other sources, to ensure that disabled children and their families receive timely, coordinated support and deliver accredited interventions, such as parenting courses, that focus on understanding and supporting the unique experiences of parents/carers of disabled children. The people we are looking for will have:
RQF level 3 qualification in a relevant subject eg. community development, health and social care, counselling, childcare, youthwork
RQF level 2 English and Maths or ability to pass assessment at interview.
Experience of direct working with families with children that have complex needs
Experience of undertaking an assessment of need of families and children with complex needs
