has experience with children and in a nursery setting
has a good knowledge of child development and early childhood education
has strong communication skills
the ability to work as part of a team or using own initiative
is proficient in English
remains calm during busy or stressful situations
is able to have fun, laugh and become part of the team.
Duties and Responsibilities
To act as a key person to a small group of children.
To support Room Lead with day-to-day running of the room and use their own initiative where required.
Complete all daily and weekly Risk Assessments and any other documentation required by the Setting by initialling to confirm they have completed the tasks required.
To help plan and deliver a broad range of exciting opportunities and activities to ignite and enhance children's learning.
To actively maintain and develop up to date knowledge and skill in the field of child development and approaches to working with children.
To participate actively in continuing professional development, training and other in-service activities both on and off-site.
To keep up to date with current legislation, policies and procedures.
To keep children safe at all times.
