Georges Playgroup are seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an early years educator/ practitioner. The ideal candidate will have recent childcare experience and knowledge, with a full and relevant Level 3 qualification (preferred, but level 2 will be considered). The ideal candidate will work well a team, and also from their own initiative. You will have a high standard of safeguarding, child protection and health and safety knowledge.
Responsibilities
You will have a high level of safeguarding knowledge and a commitment safeguard children's welfare at all times.
You will be a role model to all children, with clear and consistent boundaries for the children to follow and in line with our setting policies and procedures.
You will share the responsibility of providing a safe and inclusive environment for all children, staff and visitors to the setting.
You will participate in planning for the setting, and using ideas to deliver educational activities that support the children's development
You will have your own group of key children, which you will be responsible for completing regular observations, assessments and next steps.
You may be required to support SEND needs. (training and support will be given if this is required).
You will communicate effectively, with the ability to speak to children, colleagues, families and at times, outside professionals.
You will work well as part of a team and also demonstrate using your own initiative.
You will work approx. 20 hours per week, during term time. There may be occasions where you are required to work outside of contracted hours.
Requirements
Full and relevant Level 3 qualification (Desired, but Level 2 considered for the right candidate)
Relevant and recent experience in a childcare setting
Clear knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, child protection and all areas of childcare.
Strong communication skills.
Manage and maintain a calm and organised environment, offering educational activities.
A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their growth and development.
Full responsibilities and requirements
This is a permanent, part time position. Term time only - subject to 2 satisfactory employment references and enhances DBS checks all following our safer recruitment procedure and successful completion of a probationary period.
Full responsibilities, requirements and working hours will be discussed at interview. 20 hours per week, being flexible to cover at short notice on occasions. Monday - Friday, term time only.
