We are looking for an experienced Level 3 Early Years Educator to join our team at Giggles.

Responsible to:

Senior Nursery Officer's, Nursery Manager, Company Directors

Purpose of Job:



It is the Early Years Educator's responsibility to help and assist the Senior Nursery Officer in the day-to-day running of their room. In general, they must have a holistic view of the nursery and maintain a happy and safe environment. The Early Years Educator must remain loyal to the company and report any cause for concerns to the Senior Nursery Officer. Above all, the Early Years Educator must work in a professional way, display a positive attitude, integrity and calm assurance at all times. The Early Years Educator must always be aware of their role of responsibilities which include the following:

Duties



Parents/Carers



To help and assist the Senior Nursery Officer and Nursery Nurses in the settling in of new children.

Be aware of any problems and concerns and report them to the Senior Nursery Officer.

Establish and maintain good relationships with parents.

Always be available for support and advice but always refer any questions you are unsure about to the Senior Nursery Officer. Reassure parents when needed.

Give detailed and accurate feedback to the parent on their child's day.

Plan and attend regular parents' evenings to discuss children's progress, likes and dislikes.

Children's wellbeing



Be welcoming to all the children and their Parents.

Be aware of safeguarding and our policies/ procedures and any causes for concern involving children, parents and staff and report them to the Senior Nursery Officer and safeguarding lead.

Adhere to all policies and procedures, completing our in-house training programme.

Provide a caring and stimulating learning environment.

Use skills of observation to assess the children within the EYFS, monitoring and recording their progress. Keep tapestry up to date.

Be assigned key children, ensuring their wellbeing & developmental needs are always being met.

Ensure children's developmental and wellbeing needs are consistently being met reducing any barriers to learning.

Help ensure the nursery always meets Ofsted requirements under senior supervision.

Plan effectively for your key children so they can progress and achieve suitable next steps.

Maintain Health and Safety Standards at all times.

Staff



Work as part of the team to develop a good, strong and loyal team.

Help the Senior Nursery Officer maintain high standards. Be available for support and advice in the absence of your senior officer.

To ensure records are properly maintained, e.g. daily attendance register, accident forms, risk assessments.

Value and respect one another's ideas.

Follow and implement the Buddy system.

Assist in planning and displays.

Cover in case of absence.

Be familiar with and put into practise all policies and procedures.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 11.00-13.50 per hour
