To be responsible for the management of day-to-day financial operations within the nursery, by meeting financial targets and managing the occupancy ensuring maximum capacity reporting to Director
To manage a staff team effectively.
To agree and set nursery goals and monitor the achievement of progress against targets once agreed with the Director.
To monitor and assess the quality of provision ensuring that policies and procedures, best practice and standards are maintained and to report and update the Director for processing.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
1. Operational Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with Ofsted, EYFS, safeguarding, and legislation.
Maintain high standards of care and equality in practice.
Prepare for inspections and implement recommendations.
Report complaints or issues to the Nursery Director and take corrective action.
2. Individual Accountability
Ensure staff understand and meet responsibilities.
Keep development plans and evaluations updated.
Maintain confidentiality and address poor performance.
Manage workload, delegate tasks, and support new ideas.
Ensure nursery is well-resourced and safe.
Act as key holder and liaise regularly with the Nursery Director.
3. Personnel
Manage staffing levels, recruitment, induction, and records.
Conduct appraisals, supervisions, and development plans.
Address poor performance, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
Monitor sickness, absence, and turnover.
Build positive team relationships and communication.
4. Finance & Administration
Manage budgets, payroll amendments, petty cash, and direct debits.
Monitor occupancy and maintain accurate records.
Communicate with parents via meetings, newsletters, and contracts.
Maintain GDPR compliance and children's records.
5. Marketing
Ensure excellent customer service.
Handle enquiries, visits, and marketing activities.
Promote nursery in the local community.
Manage waiting lists and occupancy plans.
6. Training & Development
Identify training needs and provide access to opportunities.
Monitor effectiveness of training and support trainee staff.
Ensure ongoing professional development for all staff.
7. Health & Safety
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, risk assessments, and emergency procedures.
Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and security standards.
Oversee medication administration and equipment safety.
Conduct daily safety checks and regular fire drills.
Lock up and secure the nursery.
