Join our team at Whittington Preschool and Day Nursery!

We're an independent nursery based at Whittington Barracks, located between Tamworth and Lichfield. With a strong focus on the Reggio Emilia approach and the comforting principles of Hygge, we've created a cosy, homely setting that promotes confidence, creativity and curiosity.

As a small and friendly team (not part of a chain), we pride ourselves on offering a personalised, child led experience. Our goal is to give every child the very best start by nurturing their creativity, confidence, and sense of wonder.

Could you be what we're looking for?

Working pattern:

(We have two options!)

Option 1:

4 full days & 1 day off per week - 7:30am - 6:00pm (40 hours) 12.30 per hour (25,584 per year)

Option 2:

4 full days & 1 half day off per week - 7:30am - 6:00pm & 7:30am - 1:00pm (45.5 hours) 12.30 per hour (29,101 per year)

What you will be doing:

Creating a warm, caring atmosphere where children feel safe, seen, and valued. Supporting children's learning through play-based, child-led activities. Encouraging imagination and discovery using loose parts and natural resources. Helping to keep our nursery space calm, cosy and inviting - just like home. Working closely with families to support each child's unique journey. Recording observations and tracking your key children's development.

What we need from you:

At least 12 months of recent experience in a similar early years role.

A full and relevant childcare qualification

(minimum Level 2) Confident using basic IT - we use iPads and an online platform to stay connected with families. A passion for the Reggio Emilia & Hygge In The Early Years approach (or a willingness to learn about it!) Friendly, reliable, and a true team player with great communication skills. Warm, patient, and caring - someone children naturally gravitate towards.
