Job Purpose:



We require an

experienced level 3 qualified practitioner

to work in our

baby room

.

They will ensure every child deserves the best start in life, providing a safe, secure and stimulating environment for the children. To follow the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), setting the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to eight, adhering to the policies and procedures of our settings at all times.

Duties and key areas:



Roles and Responsibilities:

To assist and support babies in their daily activities like; self-care, feeding, sleeping and their independence Create a nurturing and stimulating environment where babies can thrive, learn, and develop their skills. To be aware of and follow the settings policies and procedures, EYFS statutory requirements, SEND code of practice and all other relevant legislation relating to care and education. To ensure all necessary steps are taken to keep children safe and secure by placing emotional and physical wellbeing as of the utmost priority. Identify children and young people who are suffering or likely to suffer significant harm and take appropriate action with the aim of making sure they are kept safe. To promote healthy lifestyles including dental health, healthy eating and the importance of exercise and unsure children have access to the outdoors on a daily basis. To actively fulfil duties in line with the 4 overarching principles of the EYFS of a unique child, positive relationships, Enabling environments and Learning and development. Promote respectful partnership working between families and professionals to support the holistic needs of each and every child. To actively promote fundamental british values including mutual respect, individual liberty, tolerance, democracy and rule of law. To provide high quality learning environments, experiences and interactions to meet the diverse needs of all children and their families. Through observation, assessment and planning, provide universal, targeted and specialist support to meet the diverse needs of children and their families. Completion of any reports including statutory 2 year checks, settling in, 6 monthly assessments, targeted plans and necessary supporting documentation. ensure every child is receiving their entitlement through growing healthy, funded education, Northumberland school readiness passport, school reception places and Family hubs. To model good practice and professionalism at all times. Maintaining a positive supportive working environment where everyone is valued, respected and made to feel part of our team. To attend regular staff and planning meetings, fundraising/social events relevant to our setting. To embark on relevant training and personal development relevant to the post. To maintain confidentiality and sharing of information in line with GDPR To ensure that all areas of the nursery are kept safe, clean and tidy at all times (including following procedures for opening and closing checks, temperature checks, cleaning, laundry, risk assessments, as examples) To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the nursery manager.

Specifications:

Qualifications/ Training



Childcare and Early Years qualification minimum level 3 Commitment to ongoing professional development Good level of general education, including level 2 (or equivalent) in English & Maths Paediatric First Aid/ safeguarding/prevent training Basic food hygiene training Relevant baby/2 year old training

Experience



Working with under 2's

Teamwork Working in Ofsted registered Early Years provision Experience of working with other professionals Dealing with child protection and Early Help concerns Application form Interview References

Knowledge and skills



Knowledge and understanding of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and other relevant legislation related to the Childcare Ability to write reports and keep accurate records Good communication skills both written and oral ICT skills Good understanding of Health and safety Knowledge Northumberland Child Protection procedures Knowledge of the Northumberland Early Years Code of Practice Application form Interview
