To provide the highest level of care and education for children attending the nursery. You will hold a level 3 qualification in Childcare, Education and Learning, demonstrable experience working in a busy nursery in our Toddler room.

Notify the line manager of any concerns or issues regarding Company policies, procedures and operational practices.
Maintain a positive attitude at all times with children, parents, visitors and work colleagues.
Ensure confidentiality, where appropriate, is maintained.
Attend regular staff meetings, planning meetings and undertake training as required.
Work as part of a team to ensure that the company's values are maintained.
Childcare and Education
Promote high standards of quality within the nursery in respect of the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
Ensure that all children attending the nursery receive rich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development.
Ensure that practice and provision in the nursery meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Health and Safety
Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day operation in order to ensure the health and safety of the children, their parents, carers, the team and any visitors to the nursery.
Adhere to all health and safety policy and procedures.
Be fully aware of all emergency and security procedures.
Be responsible for ensuring the nursery remains compliant in respect of suitably trained staff with relevant first aid qualifications.
Ensure Covid-19 policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Ensure the nursery has a clean working environment at all times.
Foundation Stage
Ensure that children are kept safe and when necessary, follow Safeguarding Procedures.
Promote and facilitate partnerships with parents/carers and other family members.
Support the development of good practice with regards to special needs and inclusion.
Support pre-school staff in delivering the Foundation Stage; ensure that provision in the nursery meets the requirements of the local authority (Solihull Early Years and Education Improvement Service) in relation to nursery Early Education Funding (EEF) for three and four-year-olds.
Establish, develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with relevant Local Authority Departments, regulatory bodies and other agencies.

Early Years Practitioner
your safeguarding role is to:
Consider the daily 'lived experience' of the child or young person and place them at the centre of everything we do; listening to their voice, working out what they are trying to communicate and never losing sight of their needs.

Know how to respond and communicate with children, young people or adults when they may be trying to tell you something. This could be verbally, non-verbally or through their behaviour.

Know how to contribute to assessments of children, young people and/or parents/carers.
Ability to assess risk, need, and to follow procedures/pathways to engage with appropriate services.
Ability to use professional judgement to make decisions as to whether a child or young person is suffering, or is likely to suffer significant harm.
