We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. This role involves implementing early childhood education programmes, supporting children's development, and fostering positive relationships with children and their families. The ideal applicant will possess strong management and leadership skills, experience with children, and excellent communication abilities. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transportation needs related to the role.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging activities that support the developmental needs of children in line with nursery policies and early childhood education frameworks
Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being
Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages learning through play and exploration
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's development and nursery routines
Support colleagues in managing daily nursery operations and organise team activities
Uphold health and safety standards in accordance with regulatory requirements
Assist in organising outings or trips, including driving when necessary
Lead by example to promote positive behaviour and social skills among children
Experience
Previous experience working with children within a nursery or early years setting is essential
Demonstrated management or leadership skills in a childcare environment is highly desirable
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Experience with childcare management systems or record keeping is advantageous
Valid driving licence preferred to support nursery outings or staff mobility requirements
