About the Role
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting the early education, care and development of children in our setting. You will work closely with staff to create a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, safe and inspired to learn.
Qualifications Required
NVQ Level 3 (preferred), or
NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare and Education (or equivalent qualification meeting EYFS requirements)
Key Responsibilities
Supporting Children's Learning & Development
Assist in planning, preparing and evaluating engaging learning activities.
Contribute to EYFS observations and assessments.
Support language development through conversation, stories and play.
Engage children in meaningful curriculum-linked learning.
Promote independence, social skills and personal hygiene routines.
Ensure inclusive practice and support children with individual needs.
Use ICT to enhance learning experiences.
Care & Wellbeing
Share responsibility for the care and supervision of children indoors and outdoors.
Be a key person for allocated children, maintaining up-to-date learning journals.
Contribute to behaviour management in a positive and supportive way.
Environment & Resources
Help maintain a tidy, organised and well-presented learning environment.
Prepare and display resources; assist with simple repairs when needed.
Participate fully in the staff rota (e.g., cleaning duties, sign-in/out).
Teamwork & Professional Conduct
Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
Be a role model, demonstrating high expectations and professional standards.
Support nursery events, trips and staff training sessions.
Follow all nursery policies including Safeguarding and Confidentiality.
Contribute to the overall ethos and aims of Dar-ul-Madinah Nursery.
General Duties
Undertake any reasonable tasks aligned with the role.
Participate actively as a team member.
Engage in ongoing training and professional development.
