We are looking for someone who can be fun and active when children need a bit of a boost, but calm and comforting at those tricky times. You should have a wealth of little ideas to engage with the children and make sure their time at nursery is full of fun. In particular, an understanding of the importance of communication and an ability to share that with staff and children alike. Our lovely team are looking forward to welcoming someone who will play a full part in nursery life.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in the nursery and report any safeguarding concerns
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities
- Supervise and engage with children during playtime, mealtimes, and nap times
- Support and monitor the well-being and development of each child with particular responsibilities for a key group of children
- Communicate with parents regularly about their child's progress
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the nursery
- Follow all health and safety guidelines and nursery policies
Requirements:
- Must have a full and relevant L3 qualification - certificate required at interview; please provide the whole title of your qualification on application
- Knowledge of child development and early childhood education principles
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and handle various responsibilities
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children
- Ability to pass a background check for an enhanced DBS
- A good understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to undertake regular training in safeguarding matters
