Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 3 qualified Lunch Cover to support students during their midday break. This role involves supervising children, fostering a positive environment, and providing assistance to pupils with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will possess experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs or disabilities, and demonstrate excellent communication and mentoring skills. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' daily experiences within a supportive educational setting.

Responsibilities

Supervise pupils during lunch periods, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Support children with special educational needs or disabilities, including those with autism, in a caring and respectful manner Assist pupils with their social interactions, encouraging positive behaviour and inclusive participation Provide support for children who require help with eating or other personal care needs Foster a nurturing environment that promotes social development and confidence Collaborate with teaching staff to implement personalised support plans where necessary Engage pupils in creative activities such as creative writing or mentoring sessions during lunch breaks Maintain clear communication with colleagues, pupils, and parents as appropriate

Skills

Proven experience working with children, especially in educational or care settings Knowledge of special education principles and working effectively with pupils with disabilities or autism Strong communication skills, able to engage and motivate young learners Creative writing abilities to encourage expressive activities among pupils Ability to work flexibly within a team environment and adapt to the needs of different children Compassionate approach with excellent organisational skills to manage diverse responsibilities during lunch periods
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 9,523.00-9,523.80 per year
