Events Crew is a family-owned event infrastructure and equipment provider that has been successfully supporting events since 2003. The Events Crew Headquarters are based on Henstridge Airfield, Somerset, with offices, workshops, inside storage and extensive outside secure storage on site. We hold massive stocks of fencing, barriers, tower lights, ground protection, picnic benches, and marquee weights. The team work across the UK and Ireland supporting major events and infrastructure projects.

Our extensive client portfolio also includes names such as London Marathon, Bath Half Marathon, Liv Golf Tour, The BBC, Wembley Stadium, Utilita Bowl, Stadium MK, Mid Somerset Show, Royal Cheshire Show, and Southampton Boat Show. This diverse experience, knowledge and skill allows us to handle events of all types.

We have a fleet of Volvo Tractor units that run with a diverse range of trailers including flatbeds, curtain siders, Broshuis's and box trailers. We also operate crane lorries, 7.2t vehicles and a fleet of Mercedes Sprinters. Our drivers are integral to the successful delivery of the events we work on and are often in direct contact with our customers.

Job Overview


We are seeking a reliable and trustworthy LGV C+E Class 1 Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods, ensuring that all products are transported in accordance with company policies and industry regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and customer service as the role would involve assisting with our event deliveries as well as other general haulage. This would include an average of 4 overnights each week. Overnights will be paid in addition.

Responsibilities



Operate and drive lorries in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. Load and unload goods, ensuring that cargo is secured properly for transport. Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries while considering road conditions and traffic patterns. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery notes and logs. Communicate regarding any issues or delays during transportation. Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients during deliveries.

Skills and Abilities



Minimum 2 years of driving experience Demonstrate a respectful, positive attitude towards others and behave in an honest and open manner. Work effectively as part of a team and under their own initiative. Flexibility is essential. Work safely, comply with health and safety legislation, and insist others do the same. No more than 6 licence points. Are able to work away from home, including 4 nights a week out. Are able to work weekends when required. Are able to plan routes. Full UK C + E driving licence. Hold Driver CPC Training Card. Hold Digital Tachograph card. Punctuality and attention to detail. Happy to undertake manual labour is needed when loading and unloading Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and the ability to perform basic repairs is advantageous. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are required for maintaining accurate records. Excellent communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with clients and team members.
