Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Tramper Driver based at Lockerbie to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively. Experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles, is highly desirable.

Duties

Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Deliver goods to designated locations in a timely manner while ensuring the integrity of the cargo. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents that occur during transport. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Assist with loading and unloading cargo as required, ensuring proper handling techniques are used. Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety and compliance.

Requirements

Valid HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) licence with a clean driving record. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles, preferably with flatbed lorries. Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Good physical fitness to handle loading and unloading tasks as necessary. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 14.70-19.30 per hour

Expected hours: 55 - 65 per week
