Job Description
Walter Edmundson Haulage Ltd based in Skelmersdale and part of the Manx Independent Carriers Group of companies.
We are currently seeking to recruit experienced Class 1 HGV drivers to join our Skelmersdale based team.
The role responsibilities include collection & delivery of full, part loads and groupage from varies parts of the UK. You will be required to use a variety of equipment from curtainsided trailers, box trailers, flat trailers, walking floor trailers, tipper trailers and a variety of tanker trailers.
The successful applicant will have:
A good understanding of drivers hour rules, WTD including adhering to the regulations and to promote all Health & Safety compliance standards to ensure a safe working environment.
Completion of daily vehicle checks and related admin.
Geographical knowledge and understanding of all UK road networks.
A good understanding of the requirements of load safety & security.
An enthusiastic and positive approach and willingness to work as part of a team.
Effective communication skills to colleagues, clients and other road users.
Experience:
Held a valid class 1 HGV for at least 2 years
Hold a valid tacho card and up to date CPC card.
ADR an advantage but not essential as training will be given.
Experience with tankers, tippers & walking floors and advantage but not essential.
The package:
14.94 per hour based on 8 hrs a day then time 1/2 thereafter.
Start times ranging from 05:00 to 07:00 Monday to Friday including a Saturday rota with additional weekend work.
Some nights outs required at 26.20 plus food allowance and parking.
