Role Description:

We have an opportunity for one full-time role or two part-time roles on a job-share basis. Also, we can offer a flexible role to support peak periods throughout the year, which may suit an experienced driver looking to reduce their current hours.

As a Parker's Nurseries LGV driver, you will be the face of the company when delivering our products to our customers' Garden Centres Nationwide. You will have experience operating and driving various LGV vehicles safely and efficiently. As an established family-run business, our reputation for providing the highest level of customer service is important to us, and you will need to be professional and courteous when interacting with all our customers. You will load your truck with stock that will be on trolleys at our depot in Thorpe-Le-Soken, & carry out multi-drop runs with some nights out expected. You will be responsible for collecting empty trolleys from our customers and for accurately completing the delivery & collection documents. You will take pride in presenting yourself and your vehicle to create the right impression with our customers, and report any faults with the vehicle to management as soon as they occur. You will have a good understanding of the driver's hours regulations to ensure you continuously comply with these to keep yourself and other road users safe. During the low season, you will work locally hauling grain and aggregates.

Key tasks you will complete;

Carry out Pre and post trip vehicle inspections Ensuring trolleys are loaded securely to prevent movement and stock damage in transit. Adhering to traffic laws and regulations Unloading of stock using a tail lift at Garden Centre customers Completing delivery and returns paperwork Reporting any vehicle or trailer issues to management immediately Adhering to all Health & Safety requirements and ensuring required records are kept
Required skills & experience:

You will hold a current LGV licence, and have a minimum of 1 years' experience You will have a can-do attitude that will be reflected in your interactions with the office staff and with our customers. You will be flexible, as no 2 days are the same
Salary will be dependent upon previous experience but will be competitive for the industry. Full time hours are 45 per week, but additional hours are available. We would expect flexibility especially during peak season.
