JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: LGV Driver Class 2, Multi-Drop and Hiab
Location: Rutherglen Area
Operating hours between: 07:00 - 17:00 Mon - Fri (or as required to fulfil the role)
40 hours per week (Some overtime may be required)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and professional LGV Driver (Class 2) to join our team. As a Class 2 driver, with HIAB, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods to our customers or designated locations. Your responsibilities will involve operating a Class 2 vehicle, adhering to legal driving regulations, and maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
Key duties
Safely and efficiently operate a Class 2 LGV to deliver goods to designated locations.
Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with regulations.
Load and unload goods, ensuring secure and safe transportation.
Plan delivery routes effectively to meet schedules and minimize delays.
Adhere to all relevant transport laws, regulations, and company policies.
Provide exceptional customer service during interactions at delivery points.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle mileage, and fuel consumption.
Report any vehicle issues, accidents, or delays promptly to your line manager.
Maintain a clean cab and vehicle
Attend training courses as required
Provide stores/yard assistance as required
Trunking may be required as necessary
Qualifications and Skills Required
Valid LGV Category C (Class 2) driving licence, with HIAB.
A valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification.
Digital tachograph card.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role (preferred).
Strong knowledge of UK driving regulations and road safety standards.
Good physical fitness for manual handling tasks.
Excellent time management and route planning skills.
A professional and courteous attitude towards colleagues and customers.
