Full-time: 35 hours per week
Fixed term: 2 years
This role is an important position within Lothian Health Services Archive (LHSA), helping us to make our collections accessible and discoverable for broad and diverse audiences in accordance with archival policies and procedures for the purposes of learning, research and public engagement.
You will have demonstrable knowledge and experience of working to international standards in archival cataloguing and collections care. You will also provide an excellent level of customer service in line with University of Edinburgh values in interactions with all stakeholders. Excellent communication, literacy and ICT skills are essential. You should also be able to demonstrate interest in, and an ability to learn about, heritage collections. This post offers significant potential for personal development as part of a supportive team working in one of the UK's most successful universities.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week), fixed term for two years.
We are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

LHSA is an accredited archive within Heritage Collections. The post will be based in Edinburgh University Main Library though there will be the occasional need to work across other University and NHS Lothian sites.

What the job involves:
Cataloguing of LHSA collections on ArchivesSpace according to priorities set by the LHSA Archivist.
The retro-conversion of older finding aids and legacy data relating to LHSA collections.
Label and/or re-house materials to improve collections identification and access according to internal guidance.
A bit about you:
Professional postgraduate archival qualification
Experience of working in an archive, library or research environment
Experience of archival cataloguing
A sound understanding of data protection legislation and handling of sensitive personal information.
