To provide world class, full lifecycle claims handling, acting as the primary customer contact in managing a portfolio of personal injury and property damage related liability claims. The role includes investigating, reserving, defending, and negotiating settlement of claims against policyholders including the outsourcing of litigation to panel solicitors where necessary.
We will need you to be able to:
Deal with notification of claims by policyholders or their representatives.
Check that the policy covers the claims notified by the policyholders.
Request, gather in and review all relevant documents and information necessary to determine liability and quantum.
Advise on liability, quantum, and strategy.
Communicate with policyholders, insurers, internal teams, third party suppliers and management effectively during the conduct of the claims.
Instruct and supervise experts investigating causation and quantum and solicitors managing litigation, as required.
Where appropriate, negotiate settlement of claims both verbally and in writing.
Make payments and set reserves within authority levels.
Take a methodical approach to each claim and work through the processes with each policyholder.
Maintain an effective claims handling and diarising system.
Manage multiple activities by prioritising important and urgent tasks whilst maintaining the focus on the policyholder.
Constantly seek improvements in how we deliver excellent customer service.
Ensure that SLA's and KPI's are met and maintained consistently.
Ensure a relevant level of technical understanding with continuous development and learning.
To undertake any individual or team task in line with the company values.
We are Looking for:
Experience/knowledge
?
At least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
Experience of handling public and/or employers liability claims.
Demonstrable experience of valuing injury claims.
An understanding of Court Procedure Rules and litigation management.
Proven capability of claims negotiation with policyholders and third parties.
