Sheffield, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Job description
Do you want to make a difference in your community? We're looking for passionate, forward-thinking individuals to join our team as Library and Archive Officers to manage Hub Libraries. This is your opportunity to help lead, inspire, and shape Libraries in the North or South West of Sheffield.

What's in it for you?

Impact:

Play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding library services that enrich lives and bring people together.

Leadership:

Motivate and manage our frontline teams, ensuring high standards and innovative service across our multiple sites.

Variety:

Oversee our wide-ranging offer, from books and IT access to our programme of events, which include author visits, Story Time, Baby Time, and digital sessions for all ages.

Challenge:

Tackle new opportunities every day, managing staff and resources to keep our libraries welcoming, safe, and relevant to our diverse community.

What do we need from you?

A passion for managing a large operational team in multiple sites to deliver results, ideally in a library setting. An ethos for customer service for a highly diverse range of customers. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and thrive under pressure. The confidence and diplomacy to handle challenging situations, ensuring everyone feels safe and welcome in our spaces. A keen interest in keeping our books and events that underpin the Library Universal Offers, fresh and engaging.

The Details:

Two full-time, permanent posts (37 hours per week). You'll work Monday to Friday across our Libraries, with occasional Saturday Duty Officer responsibilities on a rota basis and some flexibility for home working. You'll be part of a supportive, collaborative team committed to making our Libraries vital and thriving spaces within our communities.

If you're enthusiastic, driven, and ready to help us deliver exceptional library experiences, we want to hear from you!
