What you'll be doing
In this role you will be the first point of contact for our staff and students. You will offer a friendly and efficient support service to all, whilst also ensuring the library space is well maintained and organised at all times.
As such, you will be responsible for:
Assist with the provision of loan services and other Issue Desk services
Answer routine enquiries and refer where appropriate
Provide basic IT support to students and refer where appropriate
Be proactive in maintaining the library environment and ensuring that it is conducive to studying
Monitor and report on student usage and demand and ensure that there is appropriate communication with other members of the LIS team
Assist the library manager with the delivery of library inductions and skills training sessions
Undertake clerical and administrative duties as may be consistent with the post
What we're looking for
To be successful in this role you will need to have a proven track record in the following areas:
Educated to degree level
Previous experience in a customer facing role
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise own workload
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Computer literate, particularly with MS Office
A desire to support queries or issues through to resolution
